I drew a couple more pictures and uploaded them to flickr, so let’s post them here too.

Marie Curie, looking pretty scary (and photo reference)

Then, I tried to draw a 1-minute self portrait, but I failed and this came in around 8 minutes.

Also, I now have an account on twitter (@colinflipper). It’s pretty awesome as a source of constant distraction.

linkety-link-link

The last website for Jenn’s and my radio show stopped working a while ago because of some problem with the php installation on the computers at work. So, instead of just moving it, I decided to spend way too much time making something snazzier looking (but lower tech). Check it out here and let me know what you think.

There’s only a few playlists up there so far, but the rest of them are sitting around awaiting minor formatting, so they’ll show up soon.

It has certainly been a while since I last did any posting. Fortunately, some stuffed animals have been picking up the slack for me. I have some links to share, however.

Jenn and I went out to Geneva, Illinois, and saw the Kane County Cougars (a minor league baseball team affiliated with the A’s). I wrote up a diary about the experience on athleticsnation.com. That’s a pretty baseball-centric write-up, so it won’t be that helpful for people wondering about good food we at or the super-cool Hotel Baker.

Mika Miko at the Empty Bottle

picture from Flickr by Benjamin Joseph.

I’ve seen a couple of totally sweet concerts in the last couple of weeks. Wednesday night was Mika Miko at the Empty Bottle. I’ve been extremely into their music lately and the show didn’t disappoint. I got some links to a song and a video!

The other concert was the Mae Shi (at the newly opened AV-aerie). I especially like the two new songs that they’ve posted online. Run To Your Grave. Lamb & Lion.

Finally, Dave has lead me through the wilderness of the internets and shown me the promised land. Hot chicks with douchebags is the best website since i can has cheezburger!

telling me something that I already know?

So I fed a previous blog post into the Gender Genie and it told me that I’m a man! Some information on how it works can be found here or here.

I’m a bit skeptical of their algorithm seeing that the largest contribution to my masculinity index came from using the word ‘the’ 20 times (who doesn’t use ‘the’??). But it does claim to work better on samples larger than 500 words and I only provided 383. Finally, in case anyone is wondering just how manly I am, my male score was 485 and my female score was 446. So I’m pretty much just squeaking by as a 52% manly individual.
